Rare Silver Plated Box & Beakers Picnic Set, James Dixon, Sheffield, Ca 1880.
Comprising two silver beakers and a rectangular sandwich box.
Both beakers are of plain tapering form with gilt (gold washed) interior.
The box opens with two hinges to reveal a gilt (gold washed) interior and a removable partition, one side with a folding handle.
Comes in the original fitted brown leather case.
Marked on the beakers’ base for the famous silversmiths – James Dixon & Sons, of Sheffield, England.
Very good, the top of the leather case is separated, some scratches.
2600gr / 83.6oz (including the leather case).
