Victorian Sterling Silver 4pcs Tea Service, Marshall & Sons, Edinburgh, Scotland, 1849.
Comprising a hot water jug, a teapot, a sugar basin and a milk jug.
Based on the design of the bullet teapots made in Scotland in the mid 18th century but more elaborately chased than those examples.
Chased in relief with floral and foliage ornaments centered by and oval cartouche with an engraved dedication (removable).
Gold washed (gilt) interior in the sugar basin and the creamer.
Fully hallmarked for Edinburgh, Scotland, dated 1849 and maker’s mark for Marshall and Sons.
